These of course, are the albums of the birds I've photographed. While I don't consider bird photography to be my major interest, I do try to capture the different species where I can.

New Zealand birds are one of the most elusive subjects to attempt, and it is almost a relief to be photographing birds in other countries. The reason for this is that NZ birds have adapted to avian predators. Our native predatory birds hunt of course, largely by sight. This means forest birds tend to be drab and hide within the forest canopy. This is a great adaptation to evade predators but it also makes it a challenge for photographers.

Most birds here have been photographed in Australia and New Zealand, with some shots from China.
