Bee-mimics have evolved to resemble bees, but are harmless. Many predators will avoid them because of their resemblance to bees.

This is actually a fly species Eristalis tenax- as indicated by a single pair of wings. Honey bees would have two pairs of wings, and typically a much longer tongue to consume nectar.
